From February 20 to 22, 2025, the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) hosted the Liver Cancer Summit in Paris, France. The summit brought together leading experts, researchers, and patient advocates from around the world. Among the participants was a representative from the European Liver Patients’ Association (ELPA), who highlighted the crucial role of patient engagement in advancing liver cancer research and care. ELPA’s presence emphasised the importance of integrating the patient perspective into discussions on early detection, treatment access, and quality of life for those affected by liver cancer. The summit featured sessions on multidisciplinary approaches, innovations in therapy, and the growing role of patient advocacy in shaping healthcare policies. By actively participating in such high-level scientific events, ELPA continues to ensure that the voices of liver patients are heard, advocating for improved care standards and greater awareness of cancer challenges across Europe.
